Employment 

 

The Federal Government has given tax breaks to the 1% for the last thirty years on the promise that they were "job creators" that needed the extra money from our taxes to create jobs. With employment at an all-time low and income inequality at an all-time high, it is time for the government to step up and do what is right for the workers of the country.

 

I propose a program similar to the the WPA of the 1930s where we put thousands of Americans to work on rebuilding our crumbled infrastructure. Our nation's infrastructure is a shame with the blackout at the Superbowl in New Orleans a few years ago, bridges collapsing, roads with pot-holes so big it is easier to drive off-road, our country needs to be brought into the 21st Century and prepare for the 22nd.

 

Projects for the next generation Works Progress Administration would include high-speed rail, renewable local-origination power stations, and improvements to highways and bridges.
